A Web site that aims to match Troup County employers with prospective employees in the county will go live Tuesday.

The site - Troup County Works www.troupcountyworks.com - will be introduced at the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. at Best Western LaFayette Garden Inn.

In May, the Workforce Development Committee entered into an agreement with Kelsey Advertising and Design to develop the site. The committee said it has been providing guidelines to ensure that the site would offer a high-profile alternative to existing resources.

The service initially will be free for employers but they must be approved, licensed companies of the region.

Features of the site are:

— Employers can register and sort job applicants by education and skill level and know that all are Troup County residents.

— Local residents can register and post resumes and review all local job openings.

— Potential employees will find tips on preparing resumes to finding places to improve job skills.

— Local related events such as job fairs will be posted with time, dates and location.

— Links are available to the Department of Labor, educational institutions, local governments and Georgia 411.

Brandon Eley, the Web site designer, will demonstrat the site Tuesday, and fliers will be available giving the Web site address.

I just wanted to clarify that I am not the designer of the website. The entire team at Kelsey Advertising & Design has contributed to the project, including several designers and developers. Brant Kelsey and I worked closely with the Workforce Development Committee to determine their needs and communicate them to the rest of our team members.
