A 21-year-old woman was charged with obstruction after running from police, then surrendering by throwing her arms up in the air Bugs Bunny-style.

Police said the woman was walking with two other people near the Stay Lodge on Whitesville Road, and two of them walked into the roadway in front of a police officer, causing him to slam on his brakes.

The officer asked the group’s names and birthdays, and the woman told him, “May 27, I mean 17, 1990.”

The other two were let go, and the woman was asked for her information two more times, making the same mistake.

She then attempted to flee from the officer, ran about 20 feet, held up her hands and yelled, “I give up.”

Her true information finally was obtained, and it turned up an outstanding warrant through the city of LaGrange.
