I am so frustrated with the current administration in Washington that I don’t know which outrage to address first. The promise of transparency has been blown. The promise of eliminating pork (ear marks) has evaporated. Although Van Jones, who found communism and anarchism in jail, is gone from the official ranks of the administration, he is still lurking in the shadows. Anita Dunne has attacked Fox News and free speech for any who disagree with this administration.
Ron Bloom, the President’s manufacturing czar, is quoted as saying “the free market is nonsense.” He went on to say, “We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun.” Just what is that supposed to mean? Do we have gun-toting thugs in the White House? According to the New York Times (October 22, 2009), Mao suggested that “the more people a leader kills, the more people will desire to make revolution.” Is this the liberal vision for America?
What is going on here? Have we Americans come to accept as business-as-usual an administration filled with people who praise mass murderers while apologizing for America’s imperfections and ignoring the ravings of men like Ahmadinejad. The Iranian president called the Holocaust a hoax and has sworn to eradicate Israel from the face of the earth. Does anyone really believe he will roll over in the radiance of our president’s charisma and become a “good guy?” And what about Hugo Chavez who seems to be deliriously happy to have an ally in the White House?
America, you wanted change and you got it. As for hope, it is fading fast.
