Mrs. Watts was born September 30, 1931, in Sylacauga, AL daughter of the late Mable Sprayberry Brown. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life and was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Watts worked at Playtex for a number of years and was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Frank Watts of LaGrange; a daughter, Cheryl and Lowell Butler of LaGrange; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Nancy Sprayberry of Titus, AL, Larry Watts and Monika Bolz Watts of Brier, WA, Johnny Watts of LaGrange, and Ronnie and Barbie Watts of LaGrange; grandchildren, Keith Jones, Kevin Jones, Jeremy Butler, Justin Watts, Anna Caroline Watts, and Jay Watts; great-grandchildren, Bailey Jones, Levi Jones, Chaple Butler, and Bentlie Cole; brothers, Rev. A. Jerome and Sharon Hicks, Ted and Sharon Alford, and Phillip Brown; sisters, Susan and Riley Pressley, Patricia and Billy Adkins, and Cynthia and Tiny Prescott; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Jimmy McMillian, Father Kevin Hargaden, and Rev. A. Jerome Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
The family will be at 6249 Old West Point Road and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Joy Dean Watts.
