Brandon Wooten, son of James Wooten and a Troup High School senior, has been selected to attend the National
Young Leaders Conference in spring 2010. Participants in this conference are recognized as the nation’s top students, as less than one percent of all high-achieving high school students are invited to attend.
The activities planned for the students consist of exploring national issues and how they relate to the global community, meeting members of Congress and the Supreme Court justices, exploring leadership in the Capital, current issues, the news media, and a model Congress simulation. A plethora of well-known leaders have spoken at this conference, including former Vice President and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, and Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
Brandon Wooten is a Georgia Merit Scholar, member of SkillsUSA, B.E.T.A. Club, and National Honor Society. He is eager to attend this conference and is seeking aid in raising enough money to attend. The cost to attend this conference is $1560, in addition to a $300 round-trip airplane ticket.
To make a tax-deductable donation, please visit your Commercial Bank and Trust and place a donation to “Brandon Wooten’s NYLC Fund.” Thank you very much.
