A LaGrange youth was listed in critical condition this morning at Atlanta Medical Center after a wreck at West Point Road at Lukken Industrial Drive about 8 a.m. Thursday.
Justin Lane, 15, a Troup High School student, was in the back seat of a Toyota Camry that collided with a Freightliner log truck.
Two females, Ashley and Amanda Mallory, were treated at West Georgia Medical Center. Condition reports were unavailable today.
Dog allegedly beaten with bat
A Mooty Bridge Road man told police his neighbor had beaten his dog with an aluminum baseball bat about 3 p.m. Thursday.
The victim said his wife had seen the neighbor hitting the animal.
Police saw no visible marks or wounds on the fawn-colored boxer.
Arrests
— Lisa Brown, 28, of Sunset Street was charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
— Curtis Fitzpatrick, 27, of Opp, Ala., and Beverly Aponte, 42, of Elba, Ala., were charged by Hogansville police with trafficking cocaine.
— Alfred Purvis, 32, of Elba, Ala., was charged by Hogansville police with trafficking cocaine and failure to maintain lane.
— Martel Johnson, 22, of East Ninth Street in West Point was charged with two counts violation of Georgia’s controlled substance act near a park or housing project and two counts selling cocaine.

A brick was thrown through the window of a residence in the 500 block of Jefferson Street.
Thefts, burglaries
— A 2008 Honda Accord valued at $12,000 was taken from the 100 block of Church Street.
— About 30 2-by-4-inch boards and 75 2-by-10-inch boards with a total value of $1,215 were stolen from a construction site near Woodland Trail Apartments at 140 N. Davis Road.
— Various electronics including cell phones and a TV receiver with a total value of $450 were taken from a residence in the 700 block of Matthews Street.
— A Motorola Zine ZN5 valued at $330 were taken from a residence in the first block of Hood Street.
— A woman’s purse was taken while her car was unlocked and running in the Smile Mart parking lot at 600 S. Greenwood St.
— A small table and a TV with a total value of $110 were taken from a residence in the 100 block of Buck Murphy Road.
