A second man has been charged in connection with the death of a LaGrange convenience store clerk.

Rodrea Harris, 37, of Brittany Lane was charged as an accessory to murder after police said he was involved in an armed robbery in which Joseph “Peace” Boison, 55, was shot to death.

Police said Harris took part in planning and assisting with the Nov. 14 robbery of the Shell Mart at 505 Vernon St.

Christopher Caruso, 18, of Ridley Avenue is charged with shooting Boison in the chest.

“(Harris) was involved in the planning based on the information we received after the fact,” said police Capt. Dale Strickland.

Harris had an active warrant on him for allegedly entering an automobile with Caruso on Nov. 5.

He then was identified as a close friend of Caruso’s during the investigation into Boison’s death, and continued investigations showed him as a participant in the robbery’s planning, police said.

He was charged with being a party to murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault. Harris was being held in Troup County jail this morning.
