Troup High’s girls’ basketball team will play its first game under new head coach Carla Winston Tuesday evening in Greenville.
The Lady Tigers have been practicing for more than a month, and they’ll get a chance to put what they’ve learned to the test against a Greenville team also making its season debut.
Game time is 6 p.m.
The Lady Tigers won’t play again until Dec. 8 when they visit Upson-Lee.
Troup’s boys’ team, meanwhile, will begin it season on Thursday when it participates in a tournament at Auburn High.
After a two-week break, LaGrange High’s basketball teams will be back on the court Tuesday.
LaGrange will visit Harris County, with the girls’ game starting at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
LaGrange’s teams opened their seasons against Harris County on Nov. 17, with the Lady Grangers (1-0) and Grangers (1-0) both prevailing.
Callaway will kick its season off Friday at home against Greenville, with the girls’ game tipping at 6 p.m.
In private-school basketball, Dawson Street Christian School will visit Praise Academy Tuesday.
The Wildcats host His Academy on Friday and New Birth Academy on Saturday.
Both of those games are at 6 p.m.
LaGrange Academy’s teams have a pair of road games this weekend, first against Heirway Christian on Friday and then against Calvary Christian on Saturday.
Lafayette Christian School’s girls’ team begins its season Friday at home against Golden Acres.
Tip time is 5 p.m.
