Fire Deputy Chief Buddy Baker said three people were in the apartment when the fire began in the bottom-level bedroom of one of the units.
An investigation will be made into the fire’s cause.
The injured woman, whose name was not available, was treated at West Georgia Medical Center.
Vehicle overturns; man sent to hospital
A LaGrange man was airlifted to Columbus Regional Medical Center after a wreck that overturned his car at Fair and Chattahoochee streets.
Police said William Brown, 51, of Chatham Street was traveling down Fair Street in a Saturn SC1 about 3:40 p.m. Saturday when he was struck in the side by a Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Malagro Roberts, 18, of New Street. The Saturn overturned onto its roof.
A condition report on Brown was unavailable this morning.
Roberts was cited for failure to yield.
Thefts, burglaries
— Christmas presents and various electronics, with a total value of $600, were taken from a residence in Wood Glen Apartments at 64 N. Cary St.
— A T-Mobile G1 cell phone valued at $400 was taken from a coffee table in the 100 block of Bridgette Boulevard.
— A Motorola Razr cell phone valued at $300 was taken from a living room in the 1100 block of Murphy Avenue.
— A man in the 100 block of Pine Circle said someone pried open the back door of his residence and took the rent money.
Arrests
— Tellas Huzzie, 32, of Ridley Avenue was charged with rape.
— Douglas Short III, 38, of Old West Point Road was charged with three counts of third-degree cruelty to children, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, interference with an emergency call and aggravated stalking.
— Michael Johnson, 48, of Bartley Road was charged with possession cocaine with an intent to distribute.
Damage
— Two vehicles in the 300 block of Ragland Street were scratched, causing more than $500 damage to both.
— A vehicle in the 1200 block of Lindsey Street was scratched multiple times, causing more than $500 damage.
