Man struck in head by tire iron

A man told police he had no interest in continuing an investigation after being struck in the back of the head by a tire iron at a restaurant.

Police said the man was bleeding from the back of his head in the parking lot of Chelsea’s Dinner Club at 1302 Lafayette Parkway and was treated at West Georgia Medical Center for his injuries.

When questioned, the man told officers he looked up and saw a tire iron flying toward him. He turned his head, and it struck him.

Not having an investigation would drop the incident from an aggravated assault to reckless conduct.

Police said the man was attempting to kiss a female sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. He told officers that he wanted to go back into the bar, but they told him he couldn’t.

The man began getting angry at police, saying they were harassing him and couldn’t tell him what to do.

The woman behind the wheel attempted to take him home, but the man refused, choosing to yell at officers to arrest him.

He then told them that his father was an important man and he was going to have their jobs.
