Three people were charged with disorderly conduct after beating on a door in Wood Glen Apartments on North Cary Street allegedly to get some marijuana.

Police said the three beat on the door looking for a pair of pants and $65 that a man had let the resident take.

The resident told officers the three had come looking for $65 worth of marijuana in a shoe. When confronted by police, the three said that was their original intent, but someone destroyed the marijuana, so they just wanted the pants and money.

They were charged and taken to Troup County jail.

Sherrie Smith Cavender, 43, had failed to show up for the third day of her trial in October, but the trial went on without her and she was convicted on all five counts. She was apprehended on Nov. 30 at Love’s Truck Stop in Newnan.

Troup County sheriff’s agents seized about 45 grams of crystal meth from Cavender’s home across from Teaver Road Baptist Church on Dec. 16, 2008.
