They’re still perfect.

The LaGrange Academy basketball teams each won their games at the Tatnall Square tournament in Macon on Monday to keep their unbeaten seasons alive.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors (10-0) used a dominant third quarter to beat Southland Academy 58-28, while Malcolm Kenyon scored the first nine points in the boys’ game to help the Warriors (10-0) beat Southland Academy 53-40.

Both teams will play in the semifinals today against Tatnall Square, with the girls’ game scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m., and the boys’ game to follow.

In Monday’s girls’ game, the Lady Warriors were up 27-15 at the half, and they limited Southland to two points in the third quarter to put the game away.

“The girls just guarded the ball tremendously,” Academy head coach Rorie Bradley said. “They gave great effort.”

Marina Wilkerson scored 14 points to lead the Lady Warriors, and Dagny Langford scored 10.

Today’s game, Bradley said, will be a difficult test.

“They’re very, very good, and it’ll be a tough challenge to beat them on their home court,” he said.

In Monday’s boys’ game, Kenyon helped the Warriors jump out to a quick start, and they never looked back.

The Warriors led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter before Southland made things a little closer.

Jordan Ring scored 11 points to lead the Warriors.

The Warriors’ perfect start will be to a major test today, Dalrymple said.

“We’ll find out what we’re made of,” he said.
