The deaths of the three who were found slain in their vehicles within the last week could be related, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead said Monday.
The body of Alvin Hall, 44, of Atlanta was found in his burning vehicle in Newton County on Wednesday. The body of D’Anta Williams, 30, was found in the trunk of a car in a southwest Atlanta park on Saturday.
And Sunday the body of Dewayne Louder, 26, was found in a car in Troup County. Bankhead said Louder was shot several times after being kidnapped from his home in Greenville by multiple gunmen Saturday night. The victim’s 2002 Chrysler 300 was found on the roadside of Smokey Road about 100 yards south of Knott Road with the right rear passenger door open.
Suspects in the case were reported to be at McDonald’s restaurant at 145 Commerce Ave. in La-Grange. Police detained three men and searched the truck they were in.
No weapons were found, but one of the men, a 17-year-old from LaGrange, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana. The other two men were released.
No arrests have been made in the three killings. Bankhead urged those with information to call the GBI tip line toll-free at 800-597-8477.
