A woman visiting a man in the 200 block of McGregor Street stole $455 from his wallet while he was in his restroom and fled on foot without any clothing.

The man said the two were drinking together Monday night when the woman removed her clothes and indicated she wanted to get intimate. The man refused the gesture, angering her, police said. The man then used his restroom and came out to find the money missing from his wallet that was hidden under a cushion on his couch. The man then saw the woman running down McGregor Street nude.

Thefts

• A guitar valued at $150 was stolen from a residence in the 900 block of Bridgewood Drive after the owner allowed a stranger to sleep on his couch.

• A machine used for plumbing valued at $600 and 300 feet of copper tubing valued at $200 was stolen from the rear of a mobile home in the 1000 of Old Chipley Road.

• A weed trimmer valued at $200 was stolen from a residence’s back yard in the 100 block of Beaver Run.

Vandalism

• A vandal scratched profanity on the hood and rear of a Jeep Cherokee in the first block of Turner Street, causing more than $500 of damage.

• Someone threw rocks into a residence’s kitchen and dining room windows in the 100 block of Yarmouth Court, causing more than $500 of damage.

Arrest

Jason Dixon, 54, of South Parkway was charged with possession of cocaine.

Guilty pleas

• Jason Quentin Wolf, 30, of LaGrange was sentenced Monday to two years at the Troup County Correctional Institute and eight years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, aggravated stalking and reckless conduct.

Officers said he put his hand around a woman’s throat and fired a gun inside her residence on Thompson Road.

• Kendra Leanne Waddell, 20, of Palmetto was sentenced Monday to three years in prison and seven years’ probation after she pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and obstruction of an officer.

Near miss

State trooper Sgt. 1st Class Mark Mitchell of LaGrange and another man narrowly avoided being hit by a car on Interstate 85.

Mitchell was administering a field sobriety test to the driver of a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette on Sunday night when a car driven by Andy Pollard, 39, of Lanett, Ala., sideswiped Mitchell’s patrol car and plowed into the Silhouette.

Pollard’s 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe went off the right side of the highway and struck an embankment.

“It came within inches of hitting both of us,” said Mitchell, who suffered cuts to both hands because of flying glass, but didn’t need hospital treatment.

The other two drivers were not hurt.

Pollard had a blood-alcohol level of 0.26, more than three times the legal threshold for intoxication. He was charged with DUI, failure to move into the other lane in deference to a traffic stop, driving with a revoked license, no seat belt and no insurance.

“He said he knew he hit something, but didn’t know what it was,” Mitchell said.

The Fairburn man whom Mitchell had stopped passed the sobriety test, but was charged with driving without a license, no valid tag and no insurance.

• It is the policy of LaGrange Daily News to print the names of people charged with felonies.

I think also repeat offenders should get a little more of a sentence than they do,because some of them seem to never learn.I also think age should not be a factor;if you are old enough to do the crime than you should be old enough to do the time.So many times juvenilles are turned over to thier parents as punishment when the parents are most of the time the underlying cause;or either the pareent didn't care in the first place.

I would like to know how is it everyone, criminal record or not get 2 years in prison and 6-8 years probation.. No matter what the crime is......

If they have a record already, apparently they have not learned anything of just don't care.

I think the judges need to be more strict on these people no matter what the age...
