The Georgia Department of Labor will help Mobis, a manufacturing facility in West Point that supplies Kia Motors, fill about 250 second-shift production jobs.

The recruitment will be in Columbus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the department’s career center at 700 Veterans Parkway.

Mobis will be taking generic applications and conducting on-site interviews for production workers. Applicants must have a high school diploma or General Education Development, along with mechanical or electrical aptitude and mathematical ability. Automotive assembly-line experience is preferred, but not required.

Applicants who are selected by the company will be required to complete 12 hours of pre-employment training through Georgia Quick Start at West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange.
