Born July 23, 1915, in Baldwin County, Mrs. Hendrix was the daughter of the late James and Annie Bloodworth Crawford. She lived in Hogansville over seventy years, where she retired from Uniroyal, Inc. and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late C. E. (Pete) Hendrix.
Mrs. Hendrix endeared herself to the members of her four succeeding generations, each of with whom she shared a special bond of love.
Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Peggy Comer of Newnan and Marion and Max McCord of LaGrange; son and daughter in-law, Bob and Beth Hendrix of Muscle Shoals, AL; six granddaughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Henry Jones, Sharon and Perrin Alford, and Stacey and Randy Hardigree, all of LaGrange, Susan and Mike Hawkins of Roanoke, AL, Tracy and Jim Wayland of Birmingham, AL, Alison and Sammy Dodson of Muscle Shoals, AL; fourteen great-grandchildren, Ashley Hawkins, April and Jeff Shattuck, Afton and Jeremy Pownall, Billie Anne, Mary Kathryn, and Stevie Hardigree, Max, P. J., Lydia, and Lucy Alford, Beth and Lee Wayland, Austin and Charlie Dodson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Carson Shattuck.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Rev. Max McCord officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening and from 10 until 11 Saturday morning at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rosemont Baptist Church, Highland Baptist Church, or Hospice LaGrange.
