‘Martial arts’ performer charged
A man was arrested after dancing when he was told to stand against a wall in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot at 505 S. Greenwood St.
Police said they saw the man sitting in the parking lot yelling as if he was talking to someone. Officers approached him, noticed he had trouble standing and speaking, smelled of alcohol, and his eyes were red and watery.
One of the officers went to his car to get an item, when the man stood up and started dancing. He then started performing martial arts acts in the parking lot before causing a disturbance.
Officers attempted to find somewhere for the man to stay, but he refused all the suggested places, and was told he couldn’t loiter in the parking lot. He was charged with public drunkenness.
