Two boys were seriously injured Friday night when a car struck their bicycle at North Greenwood and Cox streets, throwing one of the boys into the car’s windshield.

Police said Deshaundre Ross, 12, and Deuante Cameron, 11, both of LaGrange, were taken in separate Life Flight helicopters to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. They were in good condition Saturday afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.

Jennifer Fantroyal, 33, of LaGrange told police she was driving the speed limit about 8:40 p.m. when the bike carrying the two brothers darted in front of her 1996 Ford Taurus from the driveway of Laurel Crossing apartments and she was unable to avoid the collision.

It appeared that one of the boys almost went through the windshield, police said. Neither child was wearing a helmet.

The impact knocked the bike into the northbound lane where it was hit by a car driven by Robbie Smith, 23, of LaGrange.

No citations were issued in the accident.
