Car strikes youths on bicycle
Two boys were hospitalized after a car struck the bicycle they were on, throwing one of the brothers into the car’s windshield.
Deshaundre Ross, 12, and Deuante Cameron, 11, both of LaGrange, were taken in separate Life Flight helicopters to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. A hospital spokesman said there was no information on the boys this morning, although they were listed in good condition Saturday afternoon.
They were injured Friday night at North Greenwood and Cox streets.
Jennifer Fantroyal, 33, of LaGrange told police she was driving the speed limit about 8:40 p.m. when the bike carrying the brothers darted in front of her 1996 Ford Taurus from the driveway of Laurel Crossing apartments and she was unable to avoid the collision.
It appeared that one of the boys almost went through the windshield, police said. Neither child was wearing a helmet.
The impact knocked the bike into the northbound lane, where it was hit by a car driven by Robbie Smith, 23, of LaGrange.
No citations were issued in the accident.

The woman allegedly began throwing things at him and chased him down the street with the knife before he chased her back inside the residence.
