Troup County sheriff’s deputies have issued warrants for a Hudson Road man after finding a large amount of marijuana and a “grow room” used for raising the plants in two houses the suspect owns.

Deputies went to the home of Frances Scott Allison, 53, in the 600 block of Hudson Road at 5:30 a.m. Friday after receiving information a large amount of marijuana was in the house. A search recovered five marijuana plants, growing lights, air purifiers, other cultivation equipment and a 1-pound bag of the drug stored in a freezer.

After learning that Allison owned the house next door, officers searched it and found it was used strictly for growing marijuana, deputies said. They found 45 plants, more growing lights, fertilizer and other equipment used to grow the drug.

Officers seized 50 marijuana plants and 4 pounds of the harvested substance in the search.

Warrants charge Allison with manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
