Boy injured on dirt bike

A 13-year-old boy was taken to West Georgia Medical Center after a wreck on a dirt bike about 5:15 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Hines Road.

Troup County fire Capt. Early Harris said the boy lost control of the bike, causing the wreck. He may have been traveling with a group of riders.

His name and condition were not available Friday night.

Water heater stolen from house

A thief stole a water heater from the back of a residence in the 200 block of Pine Hill Road.

Guilty pleas

Sentenced after pleading guilty Friday in Troup Superior Court were:

— John Rudolph Burmer, 45, of LaGrange; eight years in prison and seven years’ probation for child molestation.

— Cleveland Keon Cofield, 25, of LaGrange; two years at the Troup County Correctional Institute and three years’ probation for sexual battery.

- It is the policy of LaGrange Daily News to print the names of people charged with felonies.
