More than 70 businesses allowed students from Troup and Heard county schools to “shadow” workplace mentors as they went through a normal day on the job. Students indicated a career field they are interested in, and businesses volunteered to host one or more students for the day.
The program aims to help young people explore first-hand the skills and education needed to succeed in current and future job markets and to encourage the development of relationships between students and caring adults.
Job Shadow Day is sponsored locally by the Troup County school system and RESA Education Career Partnership.
