Police said the victim had gone inside the store to purchase a pack of cigarettes. As he was headed to his vehicle, two men offered to sell him drugs. He refused, got into the car and one of the men took the money from his hand.
The victim followed them toward Lucy Morgan Homes demanding his money, and the two thieves ran behind the apartment complex.
The case is under investigation.
No poison likely in heating vents
A LaGrange man called police, saying he was afraid that residents of the apartment above him were putting a poisonous substance in his heating vents.
The man told officers the residents above were stomping on the floor and threatening to kill him along with putting the substance in his vents.
Police told the man that was unlikely because each apartment has its own vent system.

Ford was cited for following too closely. Potts and her passenger, Horace Cole, 30, of Everett Street, were treated at the medical center. Condition reports were unavailable this morning.
Smokin’ in the boys room?
Troup County sheriff’s deputies said it appears one or more students smoked marijuana in an eighth-grade boys’ restroom at Long Cane Middle School.
“I inspected the restroom and did find in the last stall evidence of where something had been burnt,” Deputy Phillip Johnson wrote in an incident report. “Residue on the floor and toilet seat, and a strange odor filled the restroom and hall.”
