Police said Evelyn Jennings, 44, of Revis Street was trying to turn left into the Kroger parking lot, but entered the path of a vehicle driven by Katie Nicole Moody, 20, of Douglas Street.
Both drivers and a passenger in Jennings’ vehicle, Sylvia Edmondson, 20, were taken to West Georgia Medical Center for evaluation.
Jennings was cited for failure to yield.
Hit and run
Christina Bell, 27, of Park Place said a white Toyota Camry came out of a parking place at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab on West Point Road and collided with her 2004 Volvo, then fled at a high rate of speed. Damage to the Volvo was estimated at more than $500.
Laughing matter?
A resident of Bell Street said she and her boyfriend argued after she refused to have sex with him. After the argument, she drove him to his house on Murphy Avenue, but the man later returned to her house and slashed all four tires of her car. The woman said he also had been sending her harassing text messages.
Police who spoke to the victim said she “was in no way scared or threatened.”
“She continued to laugh at the whole situation,” saying she needed new tires and the ones that were damaged cost only $25 apiece, police said.
Funny money
Gordon Edgar, cafeteria supervisor at the Walmart Distribution Center, found a counterfeit $20 bill in the cash drawer Thursday.
Arrests
— Lorenzo Brown, 27, and Lakeisha Earl, 20, were arrested Thursday after police searched their residence at 922 Kissler Street and found a large amount of suspected ecstasy pills and marijuana. Both were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and trafficking in ecstasy, and Brown also was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
— Jeremy Daniel Green, 24, of Lee’s Crossing Apartments was arrested Thursday on a grand larceny warrant from South Carolina.
Car theft
A 1995 Chevy Camaro valued at $5,000 was stolen from the first block of Spring Street.
Honey bun skirmish
A 14-year-old girl was charged with simple battery Thursday afternoon after a fight with a 15-year-old girl on a school bus at Unity Elementary School on Park Avenue. The suspect, who was released to her mother, had become irate after somebody hit her in the head with a honey bun.
