A Troup County woman who defrauded the Georgia Department of Community Health was sentenced to 10 years’ probation, a $1,000 fine, 500 hours of community service and restitution of $16,300.

Angalovonne “Angie” Snow, 58, pleaded guilty to theft by conversion charges Thursday in Troup Superior Court and made an immediate restitution payment of $8,000.

State attorney general’s spokesman Russell Willard said Angie Snow Ministries, registered in Lithonia, had a $50,000 contract with the state for breast cancer-related programs, but she received only half of the money and converted part of it to her own use.

“Her contract detailed things she was going to do in terms of community involvement and referring individuals for mammograms,” Willard said.

In another guilty plea, Tina Renee Smith, 44, of LaGrange was sentenced to three years in prison and two years’ probation for possession of cocaine.
