Police said the burglar took a Wii and a Wii Fit board, two cigar humidors containing 20 cigars each, and four bottles of liquor, with a total value of $1,030, from the residence before getting in the Chevrolet 2500 truck.
The thief drove about two miles to Broad Street, crashed the vehicle into a telephone pole and fled on foot.
The truck was valued at $38,000.
Two hurt in four-car wreck
Two people were injured in four-car accident about 6 p.m. Thursday on Keith Road in Meriwether County. One patient was flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center, and the other went by ambulance to West Georgia Medical Center.
The names of the injured and details of the crash were not immediately available.
Vandalism
Troup County sheriff’s deputy Jeff Walker said someone spray painted a swastika on a stop sign at Cedar Creek Drive and Ivey Springs Court. The road department was called to replace the sign.
Damage
Two vehicle tires were slashed in the 600 block of Granger Drive, causing about $190 damage.
Thefts, burglaries
— Various electronics, including TVs and a laptop, tools, and clothing, with a total value of $4,225, were taken from a residence in the 200 block of Cleveland Avenue
— A thief took various electronics, including a Wii and a 32-inch Sanyo flat-screen TV, as well as a Dodge Neon from a residence in the 100 block of Buck Murphy Road. The car was found later in Manchester.
— A thief entered a vehicle in the 500 block of East Bacon Street and took about $500 worth of various tools.
— A resident of the 1100 block of Hines Road reported the theft of three older-model riding lawnmowers with a total estimated value of $830.
Arrests
— Michael Fowler Sr., 32, of Hammett Road was arrested at his home early this morning on charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and three counts of child molestation.
— Kathy Lynn Rogers, 45, of Franklin was charged by LaGrange police with six counts of first-degree forgery.
— Charles Ronald Gray, 63, of Oak Street in Hogansville and Caleb Mark Eudy, 51, of Atlanta were charged by Hogansville police with burglary.
— Martez Lamon Cole, 20, of Sandtown Road was charged with selling cocaine, a violation of the Controlled Substances Act within a park or housing project, and criminal trespass.
— A warrant was issued charging Dion Salter, 37, of LaGrange with failure to register as a sex offender.
