Mr. Thomas Gamble, 80, of 729 7th Avenue, Apt. U in Columbus passed away Monday at Saint Francis Hospital.

Mr. Gamble, a native of Talbot County, was born June 15, 1929, and was the son of Willie Henry Gamble and Carrie Lue Owens Gamble. He was a stock clerk for Lil’ Joe’s Package Store and was preceded in death by his wife, Birdia Mae Johnson Gamble.

Survivors include one brother, Sam Gamble (Ann); one sister, Annie Cooper (Willie), all of LaGrange; devoted friend, Emma Ware of Columbus; and many other relatives.

The funeral service will be Friday, March 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Sconier’s Funeral Home at 836 5th Avenue in Columbus. Presiding Elder Thurman D. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery.

Sconier’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
