Principles are not only important; they are essential elements to ground us and guide our choices and decisions. They reflect our deeply held values and should not be sacrificed for convenience.

For conservatives, our principles are firmly rooted in God and our belief in the pre-eminence of natural law. In this we agree with our founding fathers who created a nation based on moral and philosophical principles that do not change. I believe that liberals (lately called progressives) view their choices and decisions through an artificial law that is highly malleable.

Comparing the two, conservatives believe that God is supreme. His standards are fixed and unchangeable. Progressives see man as superior; utopia is possible through man’s efforts, and standards are relative to the situation.

Conservatives value human dignity, individual liberty and success through hard work and effort, while progressives tend to focus on governmental control of individual liberty for the sake of the state and, to ensure individual comfort and a stable state, the government must have all the solutions.

Conservatives believe in the rule of law and personal liberty, while progressives promote the rule of man which can vary because it is not founded on unchanging principles. The rule of law is firm and fixed. Justice is blind. The rule of man is variable and justice can be different depending on how the state evaluates a situation.

The U.S. Constitution and the rule of law are fundamental to our nation. We have experienced more than 200 years of success based on them. The United States is the symbol of liberty and freedom the world over. Millions of people are clambering to come to America. It has been this way because of the marvelous insight and foresight of our founding fathers.

Progressivism and its cousins, socialism and fascism, have failed wherever they have been tried. They have been proven shallow and not sustainable. Still, our current federal administration continues to steer us in that direction. It has not worked. It will not work. It is a hollow promise to try to get the American public to accept it. It can only lead to higher taxes, inflation, loss of personal liberty and national disaster.

Join the call to raise the banner of freedom and support the LaGrange Patriots. Progressives have the wrongheaded idea that we all deserve equal success . We promote tried and true principles that ensure equal opportunity for all. The success is up to you.
