I am writing in response to Mr. Mike Smith’s letter in Wednesday’s paper regarding Rush Limbaugh. Mr. Smith stated that Rush said if health-care reform was implemented, then he (Rush) would leave the country.
Mr. Smith needs to get his facts straight (as he so often advises others). If Mr. Smith had bothered to listen to Rush’s radio program, he would have heard him say that he would fly to Puerto Rico for his health care if health-care reform was implemented in the United States. Rush never said that he would leave the country.
I imagine I will be wishing that I too could go somewhere else for health care once the government takes over and makes a thorough mess of the health-care system. Maybe Mr. Smith can help me load my pickup for the drive to the airport.
Apparently, Mr. Smith is confusing Rush with Alec Baldwin, who did say that he would leave the country if President Bush was re-elected. Sadly to say, the ultra-liberal Mr. Baldwin never followed through on his promise even though President Bush was re-elected to a second term.
