Police said the man and woman, both intoxicated, were at a fish fry. The man was sitting on a cooler, and the woman wanted him to get up so she could take the cooler back.
The two got into an argument and the frying grease was turned over onto the man. Officers found the man laying in his underwear inside the residence, covered from waist to feet with the grease.
He was taken to West Georgia Medical Center but was not admitted because he had no injuries. The woman was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Man struck with baseball bat
A woman struck a man with a baseball bat after the two attempted to patch up their relationship, police said.
The man had dropped off the woman’s son in the 100 block of Auburn Avenue and began talking about them getting back together.
When the woman refused his overtures, the man became angry and pushed her. She then picked up a baseball bat and hit him, telling police she was defending herself. The man grabbed her and fought with her before leaving the residence.
She refused medical attention and was advised of warrant procedures for simple battery.
Damage
— A man broke a woman’s windshield by jumping on it in the 200 block of East Crovat Street, causing about $400 damage.
— Someone tried to fight a man inside a residence in the 100 block of Fendig Street after kicking in the front door, causing less than $500 damage.
Thefts, burglaries
— Several metal building pieces valued at $3,860 were stolen from the back yard of a residence in the first block of Beaver Run.
— A tractor valued at $800 was stolen on Bartley Road.
— A man in the 3200 block of Bartley Road said someone has been coming onto his property for the past two years and taking parts off his lawn mowers.
— A tiller was stolen from hunting property in the 4000 block of Mountville-Hogansville Road.
— A shirt and a pair of jogging pants valued at $40 were stolen in a burglary in the 100 block of Sunset Drive.
— A Volar car TV monitor valued at $500 was stolen from a vehicle in the first block of Thornton Street.
— A thief stole a black Motorola cell phone valued at $100 from a residence in the 200 block of Whitesville Street.
Arrests
— Lawrence Scott Stusee, 42, of American Legion Road near Hogansville was arrested on aggravated assault charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman at his residence.
— Oscar Dumas, 52, of Revis Street was charged with possession of cocaine and battery.
