Children gathered on Lafayette Square on Thursday for the ‘Read Around the Square.’

Taking part as readers were LaGrange College students majoring in early childhood education. Some readers were dressed as Prince Charming, the Cat in the Hat, Mary Poppins, Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy, a rabbit and clowns.

The event, which marks this as the ‘Week of the Young Child,’ was sponsored by Troup BELL (Building Early Learners for Life), United Way of West Georgia Success by 6, Troup County schools and Troup County social services.
