But Commission Chairman Ricky Wolfe and District 5 Commissioner Richard English have announced plans to seek re-election. Qualifying ends at noon Friday.
Candidates in nonpartisan races for chief magistrate and three school board seats will qualify June 28 through July 2.
Elsewhere, Republican U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland of Sharpsburg, whose District 3 includes Troup County, qualified for re-election, while Frank Sanders, a teacher-coach in Midland, qualified as a Democrat in the congressional race.
State Sen. Mitch Seabaugh of Newnan, the Republican incumbent, qualified for re-election from District 28. Also qualifying Monday were state Rep. Randy Nix of LaGrange from District 69 and state Rep. Kip Smith of Columbus from District 129. Both are Republicans.
Republican Joshua McKoon, an attorney in Columbus, qualified for the District 29 seat in the Georgia Senate. He wants to succeed Republican Seth Harp, another Columbus attorney who qualified Monday to run for state insurance commissioner.
