Police said Joshua Porter, 19, of South Page Street and Dexter Porter, 28, of McGregor Street took possession of a large amount of marijuana found throughout the house Sunday.
Officers said Joshua Porter was inside his residence in the 200 block of South Page Street when two men came in and demanded money. A fight ensued, and he was shot in the upper right arm. His mother then took him to West Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
Detectives questioned Porter about an aggravated assault incident and marijuana found at the residence. Dexter Porter then allegedly asked to contact police to take possession of the marijuana.
Both were charged with possession of marijuana with an intent to distribute.
Arrests
Troup County sheriff’s deputies Monday charged three people with manufacturing methamphetamine after a search of their vehicles and campsite at Ringer Access of New Franklin Road.
Charged were Eric Alan Fulghum 26, of Lanett, Ala., Daphne Lynn Daniel, 33, of Valley, Ala., and Robert Eugene Segrest, 37, of New Franklin Road. All three allegedly ran from officers, but Fulghum and Daniel were apprehended. Segrest was still at large.
Segrest also was charged with giving false name, escape and motor vehicle theft, Fulghum with obstruction of an officer, and Daniel with obstruction and escape.
Thefts, burglaries
— A resident of the 100 block of Jackson Road near West Point reported the theft of barbed wire and a metal fence post valued at $2,818 from an old well house next to the road.
— Undisclosed items were stolen from a barn on hunting land at 900 McCosh Mill Road.
A resident of the 300 block of Pine Hill Road said someone pried open her back door and cut the screen, but nothing appeared to be missing.
— The American Legion golf course in Hogansville reported damage totaling $440.83 to two golf carts.
— A Diamond Diesel baseball bag containing various gloves, helmets and bats was stolen from the garage of a residence in the 800 block of Piney Woods Drive. The bag and contents were valued at $767.
— Two vehicles parked outside the Carmike LaGrange 10 at 201 Main St. were broken into, and a purse containing jewelry and various identifications was taken from one of the vehicles. The purse and its contents were valued at $179.
— Two purses containing various identifications were taken from vehicles in the Walmart parking lot at 803 New Franklin Road. The items were valued at $111.
