Through October, every fourth Tuesday of the month will include free afternoon admission to senior adults at both Legacy Museum on Main and LaGrange Art Museum.
“It’s a natural idea for us, a way to reach out to our community,” said Kaye Minchew, executive director of Legacy Museum on Main.
The free admission also includes guided tours.
“If it’s a new temporary exhibit, we’ll give background information about it. If it’s an exhibit that’s been up for awhile, we’ll tell about specific items,” Minchew said.
LaGrange Art Museum will have guided tours as well.
“Our next exhibit is our permanent collection, We’ll choose a few pieces, talk directly about them and why it is an important part of our collection,” said Lauren Keith, education coordinator for LaGrange Art Museum.
The free admission is open to groups as well as individuals. Neither museum defines the age of a senior adult.
“If they call themselves senior adults, they’re welcome,” Minchew said.
— Free admission is open to senior adults from 1 to 3 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month through Oct. 26 at both LaGrange Art Museum and Legacy Museum on Main. Light refreshments will be provided. The next date is May 25. Free guided tours will be available. No reservations are needed.
