Police said the man had heard someone knocking on his window, so he pulled the shotgun given to him by a friend from under his bed and fired it into the air to frighten them.
The man told police his friend had found the weapon, a Benelli Nova 12-gauge shotgun, on a path behind LaGrange High School, and the friend told him it was OK if he had it.
He was charged with reckless conduct.
Arrests
n Lamarcus Antoine Harris, 23, of Daniel Street was charged with possession with intent to distribute both marijuana and cocaine, within 1,000 feet of a school zone; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a firearm during the commission to commit certain crimes; possession of a firearm with altered ID marks; carrying a concealed weapon; and obstruction.
n Martinez Donta Towns, 27,of River Point Drive was charged with failure to register as a sexual predator.
n Andrew Christian Glenn, 23, of McMinnville, Tenn., was charged by Troup County sheriff’s with two counts second-degree criminal damage to property, entering an auto, reckless conduct, reckless driving and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
