Eric Duncan got his dimploma and walked across the stage with the assistance of his mother and sister.
Callaway High School held its graduation Friday night outdoors Friday night even after the late afternoon thunderstorm brought doubts to school system personnel. After a long week filled with exams and the tragic loss of two of their own, CHS seniors seemed to breathe a joint sigh of relief after the ceremony was over, as they pumped their fists in the air.

One student in particular was more excited than most. Eric Duncan, who suffered severe traumatic brain injuries after a one-car accident last year, stood with the assistance of his mother and sister, and walked across the stage to get his diploma. Students and those in the audience gave Duncan a standing ovation. It has taken many sessions of rehabilitation to get him to the point of walking even with assistance.
