During football season, a preseason scrimmage was held in Hogansville, as was the homecoming parade.
On Friday, Callaway will return to Hogansville for another event.
The Callaway basketball teams will play their games against Lamar County in the Callaway Elementary School gym.
The girls' game tips off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys' game at 7:30 p.m.
“We’ve been trying to do a lot more (in Hogansville),” said Ken Mapp, a long-time coach at Callaway and an assistant on the boys' basketball team. “We won’t wear green, though.”
Mapp was referencing the football team's scrimmage against Greenville that was held at Hendrix Stadium in Hogansville.
In honor of Hogansville High and its Greenwave nickname, the football team wore green uniforms that night.
In October, the school's homecoming parade in advance of a game against Lamar County was held in downtown Hogansville.
Hogansville High closed down in 1996, and it was replaced by Callaway High.
Callaway’s basketball teams will be looking to get their first Region 5-AA victories of the season.
after falling to Manchester on Tuesday.
