Juvenile attacks man with brick

Police said a juvenile hit a man with a brick outside a residence in the 900 block of Houston Street.

The man was sitting on the porch with his girlfriend when a group of juveniles walked by. The man asked if they were the kids who shattered his kitchen window the previous week, and an argument ensued.

One of the juveniles picked up a brick and hit him in the forearm with it. The man was treated at West Georgia Medical Center.

Arrests

n Alphonsa Green, 22, of DeGroat Street was charged with possession of cocaine and obstruction.

n Anthony Keith Harris, 28, of Cox Street was charged with two counts of obscene Internet contact with a child, failing to register as a sexually violent predator and probation violation.

n Rochelle Marie Horton, 37, of Avenue K in West Point was charged with selling cocaine.

n Police charged Amanda Fay Merritt, 25, of Roanoke, Ala., with possession of hydrocodone and diazepam, carrying a gun to a public gathering, obstruction, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and possession of marijuana.

Damage

Someone shattered the rear window, damaged the roof and scratched the passenger’s side rear window and the windshield of a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Mooty Bridge Road.

Thefts, burglaries

n Someone took a trailer filled with steel pipe from West Georgia Technical College at 303 Fort Drive. The items were valued at $6,000.

n A 52-inch LG flat-screen TV and a Nintendo Wii were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Lanett Avenue. The items were valued at $1,800.

n Power tools and copper worth an estimated $1,600 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Priddy Road.

n A chainsaw valued at $200 was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Lethea Drive.

n A gray Mongoose bicycle valued at $140 was stolen from Domino’s Pizza at 107 Corporate Plaza.

Wreck

A woman suffered minor injuries when her car hit a utility pole, breaking it in two, about 11 p.m. Tuesday at Vernon Road near Forrest Avenue.

Police said Pamela Pike, 22, of Cedarcrest Road lost control of her Kia Rondo when she tried to stop a water bottle from falling inside her Kia Rondo. She was treated at the hospital and cited for failure to maintain lane.

Accident

Seven-year-old Jacob Winkles of Ga. Highway 54 near Hogansville suffered possible broken ribs Tuesday morning when he made a sharp turn on his four-wheeler and it overturned, landing on his chest. He was treated at West Georgia Medical Center.

Pet slain

A woman in the 1000 block of Salem-Chipley Road said someone killed her miniature Doberman pinscher.

Guilty pleas

n Michael Paul Boddie, 24, of LaGrange; two years in prison and four years’ probation for cruelty to children in the first degree. He severely beat a 2-year-old child Nov. 27 at a residence on Chatham Streeet.

n Richard Allen Harvey, 48, of LaGrange; three years in prison, seven years’ probation and restitution of $4,500 for stealing a Yamaha four-wheeler valued at $6,000 from a residence in the 1400 block of Blue Creek Road.

n Lashaun Turshay Mitchell, 31, of Rapid City, S.D.; five years in prison and five years’ probation for a June 5, 2006 robbery at McDonald’s restaurant in Hogansville. The charge was reduced from armed robbery.
