Drug probe nets five arrests

An ongoing drug investigation by LaGrange police led to the arrest of five people suspected of dealing drugs from a residence in the 1100 block of Simmons Street Thursday night.

Police charged the following: Maceo Foster, 20, of Simmons Street with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, sale of cocaine and possession of a fire arm; Ossie Foster, 40, also of Simmons Street with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; Brandon Hill, 20, of Borton Street with possession of a fire arm by a convicted felon; Alexis Jones, 19, of LaGrange with two counts of probation violation and obstruction of officers and Nakita Shells, 21, of Cedar Street with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and aggravated assault.

Officers found marijuana, cocaine, digital scales and two handguns in the residence.

A man called LaGrange police Thursday night about woman damaging windows outside of his residence in the 100 block of Fendig Street. The woman was said to very loud and reeked of alcohol. The suspect was charged with public drunkenness after the owner of the residence said he didn’t wish to press charges because the damage appeared to be accidental.

Burglaries, thefts

A thief stole a wedding ring valued at $775 from under a bedroom mattress in the 300 block of Hudson Street Thursday night.

An Apple IPod was stolen from a woman’s car in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue Thursday night.

Vandalism

A vandal used an un-known object to scratch the front and rear sides of a car parked in the 900 block of Baldwin Street Thursday night, causing more than $500 of damage.

Man accused of choking wife with metal pole

LaGrange police accused a man of punching and choking his wife after dragging her by her hair through some mud outside of his residence in the 900 block of Kelley Street Thursday night. The incident occurred after an argument about the victim’s 1 year-old and 2-year-old children spilling milk on one of the suspect’s car seats. Both children witnessed the incident, including when the suspect reportedly used a metal pipe to choke his wife. The suspect was charged with battery FVA and third degree cruelty to children.
