Mr. Marvin McKinley Fuller, 85, of LaGrange passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Fuller was born August 5, 1923 in Griffin, son of the late Wooster McKinley and Nina Beatrice Moody Fuller. He had lived most of his life in LaGrange and was a faithful member of Rosemont Baptist Church and the OASIS Senior Adult Group. Mr. Fuller retired from the United States Postal Service after 29 ½ years of service. He worked in the LaGrange Post Office for 22 years, served as the Postmaster in Dawsonville and retired as Postmaster in Hartwell. Mr. Fuller was a member of the Elm City Masonic Lodge #544 Free and Accepted Masons for over 60 years. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific on the USS Montpelier which was commissioned on September 9, 1942. He defended his country in at least six major battles.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Gaynelle Todd Fuller; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tommie Fuller, all of LaGrange; granddaughter, Stephanie Fuller of Auburn; great-granddaughter, Madison; great-grandson, Landon; and a brother, Bobby Fuller of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Paul Gray, and a brother, Lawrence Fuller.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 Sunday at Shadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Max McCord officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions be made in memory of Mr. Fuller to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange GA 30240, or the Rosemont Baptist Church Building Fund, 3794 Hamilton Road, LaGrange, GA 30241.
