Steven Keeth shows an ornament honoring the late Clifford Russell, longtime Charlie Joseph’s employee who died in 1998. Owner Joey Keeth said the family commissioned the ornament to mark the 10th anniversary of Russell’s death. ‘He was my right hand. Everybody still misses him, and the Chamber of Commerce ornament featuring the restaurant last year proved so popular, we thought this would be a good way to remember Clifford.’ The $9 ornaments are available at both Charlie Joseph’s locations, on Bull Street and West Point Road.

I am so proud and excited! Clifford Russell was my uncle and a very loving man. I am so glad to see that Charlie Joseph's is honoring his memory.

Steven....you and your family should be proud and I say "Thank You" for remembering (still) a very important man...... " Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you" is what I would say to the negative writer. What a beautiful idea and may God bless your families. There are not many people in this town who have left such long lasting impression as Clifford did. We all should learn something from him....

I think this is a wonderful idea and a beautiful way to celebrate the life and memory of a wonderful man. He was more than just a cook at people's favorite restaurant, he was a friend to anyone who stepped thru those doors. I don't recollect ever seeing that man have a "bad day."

As for Come...On...Really, Clifford was not the one who took that boy's life and I am sure he mourned and would have changed things if he could but he couldn't because he was not responsible. You can not hold one man accountable for another's doing nor can you harbor so much annymosity for an innocent person that you would smear his character in this way.

I pray that you find peace in your heart and that you take a lesson from Clifford and just "Smile."

I can't blame him for his brother, but Clifford was about as homey & friendly as one could be in his job at CJ's. Always made my visits more than just eating experiences.

What a wonderful idea! I remember Mr. Clifford. He was a sweet man with a great memory. I could walk in and never had to order after I had been in twice.

I haven't lived in La Grange in about 20 years and still tell anyone I meet going to the area they have to stop in at Charlie Joseph's for the best hotdogs in the country.

Why not make an ornament for the boy his brother shot and killed?
