The online option not only saves time and money, but reduces the number of people appearing in court, said Clerk of Court Jackie Taylor.
Tickets paid online automatically generate a customer receipt and ICON Software maintains high security for all transactions, Taylor said. A “convenience fee” will be charged for each payment.
Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit and debit cards are accepted.
Traffic fines still can be paid at the clerk’s office in the Government Center or by calling toll free at 866-339-0646.
Some citations still require a court appearance, such as those issued in connection with an accident, for speeding more than 90 mph and no proof of insurance.
Drivers younger than 21 who are cited for driving more than 24 miles over the speed limit also must appear in court because it carries an automatic license suspension.
