He was a World War II veteran. He was a longtime resident of LaGrange, and was employed by Milliken & Company for 46 years. He was a longtime member of South Highland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helon Pannell; his parents, John W. and Lucille Pannell; three brothers, Harold Pannell, Richard Pannell, and Jack Pannell and three sisters, Christine Stone, Peggy Robinson and Helen Langley.
He is survived by two sons, James Larry (Carol) Pannell of Columbus, GA and Robert H. Pannell of Millbrook, AL; a daughter-in-law, J. B. Justice of Coosada, AL; grandsons, Bryan (Kathi) Pannell of Gig Harbor, WA, Scott (Dawn) Pannell of Douglasville, GA, Dalton Pannell and Dillon Pannell of Coosada, AL; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m CDT in the chapel of Alabama Heritage Funeral Home in Montgomery, AL with burial following in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 10-11 a.m. CDT at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, prior to the service.
