A LaGrange businessman who was beaten and robbed was expected to be released later today from Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he had been listed in critical condition.

Harold Lee, 64, of Caney Creek Drive, the owner of Wing Man chicken wing eatery at North Greenwood and Ashton streets, returned home shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday and was confronted outside by a man wearing a ski mask who demanded money.

After investigation, Troup County sheriff’s deputies have charged a third suspect in the incident.

Deputies said Joshua Rogers, 21, of Maley Road was hiding in the woods with Zachary Marshall, 19, of Hammett Road. Marshall’s brother, former Wing Man employee Joseph Jones, 24, also of Hammett Road, approached Lee after he got out of his vehicle and began punching him after demanding money, lawmen said.

The victim’s wife heard the commotion outside and called 911. Lee was airlifted to Atlanta and was in stable condition this morning.

Deputies found Jones and Marshall in his residence’s bedroom hiding in a closet with his brother in the same room. They then led officers to the wallet hidden several miles from Lee’s residence.

All three suspects were charged with robbery by force and aggravated assault.
