Four schools, eight teams, and two championship trophies.

Callaway and Troup will be among the schools fighting to take home the top spots in the Callaway Invitational, which runs today through Saturday at Callaway High.

The other two participating schools are Harris County and Pacelli.

The tournament gets under way today, with Troup and Pacelli facing off.

The girls’ game is at 6 p.m., with the boys’ game to follow at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Callaway and Harris County will play a doubleheader, with the girls’ game tipping at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow.

The winners of today’s and Friday’s games will square off on Saturday for the championship.

The action gets under way at 2 p.m. on Saturday with the third-place girls' game, and the boys’ consolation game is at 3:30 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the girls’ championship will be decided, with the boys' title game set for 6:30 p.m.

In the boys’ tournament, the Troup Tigers (1-3) are hoping to get their season turned around after losing three straight games.

“We’ve got some good teams coming up. We need to play better,” Troup head coach Thermond Billingslea said.

Callaway (3-2) has dropped two of its past three games after opening 0-2, with the two losses coming by a combined 11 points.

In Tuesday’s 72-65 loss to Spencer, the Cavaliers were hurt by 29 turnovers.

Harris County (4-2) and Pacelli (1-3) will look to spoil a potential championship showdown between Callaway and Troup.

On the girls’ side, Callaway and Troup will look to continue their early-season success.

While the Lady Tigers have already surpassed last year's win total with a 4-2 record, Callaway has won two straight to improve to 3-2.

Harris County has struggled to a 1-7 start, and Pacelli is 5-2.

One of Pacelli’s two losses was a 67-35 setback to Callaway.
