The Callaway Cavaliers, with explosive quarterback Quan Bray leading the way, made quite an impact at the Clemson University 7-on-7 passing tournament.
The Cavaliers played nine games in the tournament, and they won six of them to advance to Saturday’s semifinal round before falling.
The games were 25 minutes long, and there was no tackling involved.
“It’s just great reps for your skill kids, offensively and defensively,” Wiggins said.
Twenty players on both sides of the ball participated in the tournament.
“We just got better at running routes, and our quarterback got to throw a lot,” Wiggins said. “It was great.”
The Cavaliers are in the midst of a busy summer as they get ready for the season opener on Aug. 27 against Troup.
In addition to their workouts at the school, the players are attending a number of camps across the Southeast.
Callaway went 10-3 a year ago and advanced to the state quarterfinals for the first time.
