A woman was beaten after asking her boyfriend if he was having relations with other women in the 1200 block of Troup Street.

Police said the two were in bed when the argument began. The man became angry and started punching the woman in the head, causing large knots on her forehead and a black eye.

Officers were flagged down by the woman in her front yard. Both the man and woman were intoxicated.

The man was charged with battery.

Man punches woman over baby

A man and a woman got into a fight over their baby, who the woman wanted the man to stop caring for.

Police said an argument began between the two over the baby while in the 100 block of Daniel Street. The woman wanted the father to stop helping with the child and only pay child support. The man then became angrier, and the two stepped out onto the porch of the house.

Officers said the man pushed the woman off the porch and began choking her. When she tried to call police, the man punched her in the face and fled on foot.

A warrant for simple battery was taken out on the man.
