Police gave this account:
Officers found the woman with a black eye, scratch marks and a bite mark drawing blood from her arm. She said her boyfriend had arrived at the residence and began yelling at her, saying she had been unfaithful while he was in jail.
She refused to let him see her phone, and he found a CD with another man’s name on it. He then cursed at her and told her she was going to pay.
He started throwing things around the room and punched her in the face. He then demanded food and drink, and after she made it, he began attacking her again, biting her on the arm.
During the fight she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him, causing him to bleed profusely. He told her he loved her and then left. Officers found him en route to West Georgia Medical Center.
No charges had been filed.
Woman’s letters lead to attack
A woman attacked a man and beat his vehicle with a chair after finding letters from another woman in his car, police said.
Police said the woman dropped the car on Cannon Street, and an argument ensued over the letters. The woman jumped on the man’s back, ripping his shirt and clawing down his back. She then picked up a chair and beat the sides of the car, causing more than $500 damage.
The man told officers he didn’t touch the woman because he didn’t want to go to jail again.
Officers found the woman at her residence on Cross Creek Drive. She told them the man had pushed her and choked her during the argument.
She was charged with battery and criminal damage.
Gunmen sought
Police were looking for a group of men who robbed residents at gunpoint on East Ninth Street in West Point.
Police said the group was inside the residence about 4:45 p.m. Saturday when two to four men entered. The intruders wore all black clothing, covered their faces with bandannas and brandished weapons. They demanded money and fled.

Arrest
Edward Paschal, 57, of Franklin was arrested by LaGrange police on a warrant from the Heard County sheriff’s department on chagres of manufacturing methamphetamine. Paschal was arrested after a man barricaded himself inside a North Greenwood Street residence Thursday.
Damage
— The front bumper of a vehicle was pulled off and the driver’s side door damaged in the Tall Pines Apartments parking lot at 150 Turner St. Damage was estimated at $300.
— A vandal pulled a section of vinyl siding off a residence in the 400 block of Bacon Street and ripped off part of a gutter, causing less than $500 damage.
Burglaries, thefts
— A burglar broke into a New Hutchinson Mill Road house and took items valued at $5,000.
— A River Pointe Drive resident said a thief broke into his home through a window and took items from the master bedroom, including jewelry, a Verizon Droid phone, a Vera Bradley purse and a money clip with bank cards.
— A Lexus GS 300 valued at $18,000 was stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Bonaventure Drive.
— A black Horton cargo trailer valued at $2,500 was stolen from the parking lot of First United Methodist Church at 401 Broad St.
— A fireproof safe containing $1,700 was stolen from a bedroom closet of a residence in the 400 block of Woodland Drive.
Guilty plea
Kelcey Demetris Stephens, 31, of LaGrange was sentenced Monday to four years in prison, six years’ probation and fines of $1,850 after he pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana by an inmate and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
