Police gave this account:

The man walked in the woman’s residence while she was cutting rubber bands out of her daughter’s hair. When she told him to pack his things and leave, the man grabbed her head and pushed it into a wall. The woman began to strike him and stabbed him with the scissors.

The man left, then came back in and began throwing things at the woman, including a clay pot that struck her in the arm and caused a small break in it. The woman then noticed blood coming from the stab wound and said she was calling 911.

The man fled and couldn’t be found. The woman was taken to West Georgia Medical Center.
