Just two days after the boys’ and girls’ teams from the two schools squared off in the championship games of the Callaway Invitational, they’ll meet today in a regular-season matchup.
Today’s games will be played at Troup High, with the girls’ game tipping off at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow.
In the boys’ game, the Tigers will try to bounce back from Saturday’s 50-47 loss to Callaway.
The Tigers had won two straight games to even their record at 3-3 before falling to the Cavaliers.
Callaway is 5-2, and this will be its final game until Jan. 9 when it visits Heard County.
Troup will return to the court for the West Georgia Battle on Saturday at LaGrange High.
In today’s girls’ game, Troup (6-3) will try to add to its early-season success.
The Lady Tigers, who beat Callaway 50-38 on Saturday, have already doubled their win total from last season.
Callaway (4-3) had won three straight games before losing to Troup.
Also today, LaGrange’s teams will complete their stays in a tournament in Carrollton.
Both teams split their first two tournament games.
The Lady Grangers (5-2) play at noon, while the Grangers play at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Grangers won’t play again until Jan. 3, while the Grangers will host the West Georgia Battle that begins Monday.
In private-school basketball, LaGrange Academy’s teams will return from a two-week layoff on Saturday when they play in the Tattnall Square tournament in Macon.
The tournament runs through Tuesday.
The teams from Dawson Street and Lafayette Christian won’t play until next week.
